Hi! I am Alan, owner of West Sussex Lock & Weld, based in Horsham.

Long before I ever considered becoming a locksmith, I was fascinated by locks. 
What started as a hobby in locksport, learning how locks work, picking them responsibly and rebuilding mechanisms, gradually became something I couldn’t stop learning about. I still enjoy taking locks apart just to understand how they can be made better.

Over time that passion turned into a career goal. I’m continually investing in training, new tools and experience because this isn’t just something I do, it’s what I want to build my future around.

When I’m not working, life revolves around my fiancée Emma and our three children, who keep me far busier than any lock ever could. Building a business that makes them proud is a huge part of why I started West Sussex Lock & Weld.

I’m a big believer that people remember how they’re treated. That’s why I aim to be approachable, honest and transparent, whether it’s a five minute adjustment or a more complicated job. I’d rather build a reputation that lasts than chase a quick profit.
